A weekend full of work and play

This weekend was a beautiful weekend in Pierre, SD! Saturday was a bit windy but Sunday you couldn't have asked for a better day! No wind and 74 degrees! What a great day.

Saturday Paul did a lot around the outside of the house; got on the roof to see how the shingles looked, finished pressure washing the deck, and I worked on Rummage Sale stuff. Later in the day we took Seneca to some friends of ours who foster dogs for the Humane Society. They had two puppies so thought Seneca would enjoy that. Well, when she started running around the yard to play, so did the two puppies plus their yellow lab and they all wanted to play with Seneca and down she went. We thought she was laughing at first and it ended up she was crying. Well, needless to say, she won't ever be asking for a pupppy! Later in the evening we had some friend over to play cards. It was a fun but late night as usual!

Sunday we started the dreaded task of staining the deck! After working on it for 8 hours, we are half done. Paul will work on it some more tonight when he gets home. Somedays, I think homeownership isn't all that it is cracked up to be. Apartment living where someone else keeps the yard up and does all maintenace sure was nice but it also had its disadvantages!
Since we were staining (painting as Seneca calls it), she wanted to help. So we comprimised and I let her finger paint with the Crayola Wonder Colors Finger paint of course! She had a good time and could have painted all night if I let her.
