This past weekend, we headed to Rapid City to go to the Watiki Waterpark. We had been planning this for quite sometime. It was suppose to be several families and us that went but it ended up being just our family and another couple, Lance and Leah. It was still fun but poor Seneca didn't have any kids to play with once again.....or should I say kids that she knew.
We left Friday morning so we could do some shopping. When you live in Pierre, any chance you get to shop at decent stores, you take that opportunity!! After a day of shopping we headed to Applebees for dinner and for Paul to get a free dessert for his birthday. Well......it was all good until he ordered dessert and found out that they no longer give free dessert for birthdays!! Paul being the frugal guy he is was quite disappointed. But I think the three beers he already had made it OK (and no, none of them were free neither)! When we arrived back at the hotel, we headed down to Lance and Leahs room to play some cards (Pitch) and have a few cocktails. Since the State Girls' "AA" Basketball was in Rapid City and Pierre happen to be playing, we thought we would watch the games as well since they were on TV. I made it until 10:30......then we all headed to bed for some shut eye.
Saturday morning we woke up and waited patiently for the waterpark to open. Patience to a 5 year old wasn't really working especially since she knew we were going to the waterpark. So we headed down there shortly before opening. What an amazing place!! They had Kokos Kingdom which is for the little kids but of course, Seneca wanted nothing to do with it and wanted us to go with her. Well, they had a 100lb weight limit on it, so that put Paul and I out on helping Seneca on Kokos Kingdom so Paul went to the big slides to see if they would be OK for Seneca to go on with us. Well after trying all the slides, he decided it would not be a good idea for her. So Seneca and I spent some time on the "Lazy River".
She absolutely loved it!! She could have went all day on the "Lazy River". Once Lance and Leah joined us, we all took turns floating the "Lazy River" with Seneca and the adults going on the slides. Leah finally got Seneca to stand underneath the Monkey Bucket on Kokos Kingdom that dumps 300 gallons of water over your heads!! I am not too sure that Seneca liked it but managed to do it twice. After spending 4 1/2 hours at the Waterpark, we called it a day and headed out shopping again. Sunday morning before heading home, we went down to the Waterpark one last time. If any of you ever get to Rapid City, check out the Watiki Waterpark.....it really is a fun place!!
