Beautiful Weekend

This weekend was just a beautiful weekend. Friday night we actually slept with the windows open. We were even amazed by Saturday morning that the neighborhood dogs didn't bark all night long and keep us awake! They must have enjoyed the cool air also.
Saturday morning Pauls parents came for the weekend. We had a great time playing cards (golf, Tripoly, and Pitch). Paul MADE me learn to play Pitch and of course, it is one more game I hate playing with him because he ALWAYS wins! Cards are just not my thing.
Sunday morning we attended church. For the past two Sundays, Paul and I have been attending classes for our three year old. Our church has a program called "Stepping Stones". There are eight steps that children go through in their faith and Seneca has reached step 2. She will be entering Sunday/Wednesday school in a few weeks so the church puts on these classes for the parents prior to this. They visit with you about how to bless your child each day, how to pray with them and how to teach them more about God and Jesus. It is also a time to meet other parents that you can network with and hopefully get to know better and have others to "lean" on that are going through the same things you are. It was a nice class. A little out of Pauls element because you got into small groups to share. So of course, he wouldn't talk so I had to do the talking for the both of us which isn't the easiest thing for me to do neither in a group of people I don't know. We did learn that you should sit towards the front of the church with your children so they can observe what goes on. We always "hid" in the back just in case....
After our class this Sunday, we attended church where they had the "Blessing of the Three Year Olds". Seneca received a Prayer Pillow and a CD with Christian Music. They also had a special guest for all kids attending school.....an angel came to bless all of their backpacks for the start of a new school year. Seneca was almost one of the first kids down to the front. Wasn't shy at all to head right up there. She thought it was pretty neat.
