The Weekend

Seneca and I started our weekend on Friday morning. We drove to my Grandparents house in Artas and had lunch with them and spent a few hours there before heading to Eureka to meet up with Jill and Leif Dais-Brenne (Senecas Godparents) and their family to do the Eureka Relay for Life Cancer walk. The weather was wonderful at the start of the evening until the rain came! We called it quits and headed for shelter. Decided we didn't want to sleep in our tents with the rain and the kids so we went to Jills dads house. Once we got the kids settled down and sleeping it was 1 am and time for us to sleep. Of course, no matter how late Seneca goes to bed, she is up with the chickens (6 am)! We left Eureka Saturday morning to head back to Pierre and had a nice surprise....Pauls parents were there! They arrived Saturday afternoon and stayed through Sunday morning. We had a nice visit and Seneca enjoyed seeing Grandma and Grandpa Hertel. Today was a relax day in between laundry and house cleaning. Took a few hours to sit out on the deck, have a few red beers and enjoy the wonderful weather we have had this past weekend. If only the 70-80 degree weather stayed for the rest of the summer and into fall (and a few rain showers)!?
